Kudos to the Calgary Flames organization for putting together a touching pre-game ceremony to remember the life of Brad McCrimmon, who lost his life in the plane crash that killed most of the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv hockey team last September. The Flames welcomed members of Brad’s family to the ‘Dome tonight before the Flames-Red Wings game and invited almost 20,000 Flames fans to pay their respects.
It was a touching ceremony which was made even better by this tribute video:
After the video the team asked for a moment of applause from everyone, instead of a moment of silence. It was an appropriate way to remember a positive and popular player and coach who was referred to as “The Beast” by his teammates.
