Hat tip to the NHL – there are no words

I have to hand it to the NHL. The commercials they’ve played during this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs are great. They started with the “history will be made” commericals featuring Lemieux, Gretzky, Roy, Orr, and then expanded it to include more Stanley Cup heros from the past. I was waiting for the Stevie Y one, and was stoked when it showed up.

What I didn’t expect was the 2010 versions, like “what if Cammalleri didn’t hit a home run.” The addition of current players is a great idea, and really links the campaign together for current fans. Except for the Bieksa video. That’s just plain lame.

Here’s a selection of 7 of the best history will be made videos:

Other than “Wooooooo Hoooooooo!” there aren’t really many words to describe winning the Stanley Cup, which is why I like this video so much. Well done NHL or whoever you get to do your commercials.
