Battle of Alberta v 2.0

How lucky are we?!! Two Alberta battles in 5 days!

The Flames will head down the road to Edmonton again tonight to face their provincial rivals at Rexall Place. The Flames are riding a 3 game win streak while the Oilers are 1-1 to start the season. This is the first time that the Flames have won 3 straight games to start the season since the 1993-1994 1994 season. A win tonight will tie the 1993-1994 record of 4 wins to start the season.

About tonight’s game, we know this so far: Kipper and Khabibulin will start in net; Staios is out; Smid is in and will skate with Souray. Oh… and there will be fights.

Here’s some stats about the Flames players that you may find either interesting or shocking.
Jokinen – has not shot on net yet this year
Iginla – 11 shots, 1 goal and -2 rating
Moss – scored game winner last game vs Oilers
Prust – 1/3 of the newest, most popular Flames line: Prustrom
Nystrom – 100% shot percentage. +5 rating. Prustrom
Sjostrom – Also 1/3 of the newest, most popular Flames line: Prustrom
Pardy – 1 goal, 3 points. +5 rating
Kronwall – 1st NHL goal was game winner vs. Montreal
Phaneuf – 3 points. -4 rating.
Regehr – has a -5 rating… worst in the NHL
Bouwmeester – 2 pts, 27:51 avg ice time, 3rd in NHL
Bourque – 3 pts, -2 rating. I almost chose him in my pool. Took Crosby instead
Kiprusoff – 3 wins, 3.00 GAA, 9.15 save %, 97 saves (2nd in NHL)

The game starts at 7:30. For TV listings, I choose C of Red. You should too.
