Flames Free Agents Still Available

Several of Calgary’s Unrestricted Free Agents have found homes in other cities across the NHL in the past couple days.

Most Notably, Mike Cammalleri has signed with the Montreal Canadiens, where he will join Scott Gomez, and Brian Gionta as the newcomers to Montreal’s front lines. Cammalleri will earn $30M over the next 6 years in Montreal.

Adrian Aucoin has also signed a 1 year deal in Phoenix for an undisclosed amount.

This leaves 12 Flames players on the free agent list.
UFAs: Todd Bertuzzi, Anders Eriksson, Carsen Germyn, Jamie Lundmark, Warren Peters, Andre Roy, Rhett Warrener

RFAs: Dustin Boyd, Kris Chucko, Adam Cracknell, Kyle Greentree, Aki Seitsonen

I’d really like to see Boyd and Peters resigned, and to be honest, I think Andre Roy isn’t so bad for a 4th liner. He brings size and energy to the line, so if we can get him for the right price (i.e. $500,000) then we should sign him.

I don’t think Bertuzzi will fit into Brent Sutter’s defence-oriented game, even though he does help in shootouts, so don’t expect him to be back in a Flames jersey. I wonder if anyone actually went out and bought a Bertuzzi jersey last season!?!

I really hope that either Edmonton or Vancouver signs Eriksson so we can have a few easy goals when we play them. You can be sure that he won’t be back in a Flames jersey… ever.

Man, been a while, Great Playoffs, loved the seris against Chicago. Curtis Glencross seems a little lazy, maybe it was just the playoffs, but he seems to always to take a lazy route unless he's near the net or his own net, can't explain it, but he just seems a little lazy. Have you got a look at former rival of Glenner, Kyle Greentree?
