After 2 disappointing losses to teams that the Flames should have beat – on paper – they will play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at the Saddledome.
Look for the Flames to come out with some vigor in this game as they seek to get back to their winning ways after losing 2 consecutive games for the first time since early November. They will be facing former teammate Kristian Huselius and a Columbus team that has struggled on the road this season, going 9-13-3 so far away from home. But this same team has won 8 of its last 12 games… so you could say they have a bit of a ‘hot streak’ going…
Todd Bertuzzi doesn’t look ready to make his return to the Flames lineup just yet, so look for Jim Vandermeer to be replacing him on the wing.
To be successful tonight, the Flames will need to tighten up their defence and not allow so many 2nd shot chances on their goalie. They will also need to spark some offence early from their primary and secondary scorers. Look for Mike Cammalleri to continue his goal-scoring streak and for Jarome Iginla to step up his game and provide some offense.
