Al MacInnis is Hall-of-Fame bound

Legendary Flames Defenseman Al MacInnis is going to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday along with Ron Francis, Scott Stevens, Mark Messier and Jim Gregory.

Flames fans love Al MacInnis for his cannon of a point-shot and also for being one of the major players that contributed to the Calgary Flames Stanley Cup-wining Team of 1989.

For a great (but short) story about Al, check out Macinnis: The Shot Heard Round the World.

For a glimpse into why Flames fans love Al MacInnis so much, have a look at this old video from game 6 of the Flames-Canucks playoff series in 1989.

Another great video, titled “Al MacInnis Tribute” from his days in St. Louis.
