Calgary….3
Nashville…6
Nashville’s Shea Webber scored on 2 consecutive 5-on-3 powerplays to give the Predators the win over the Calgary Flames in Nashville tonight.
The Flames played catch-up hockey all night after Ryan Suter and Jason Arnott both scored within 23 seconds midway through the first period to open the scoring.
Jarome Iginla scored his first of 2 goals 41 seconds later to bring the Flames back into the game. But his best efforts were not enough. Just when Calgary seemed to be getting some momentum, someone would take a stupid penalty to give Nashville another chance to increase their lead.
Roman Hamrlik had a horrible game for the Flames and couldn’t seem to get anything going all night. He gave up a couple key pucks which ended up in the back of the Flames net in the 3rd period.
Jason Arnott lead the league-leading Predators with 2 goals and 1 assist tonight.
On a positive note, the Edmonton Oilers are sucking as bad as ever. At this point I’d be surprised if they even make the playoffs!
Calgary’s next game is at home on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
