Calgary……3
Vancouver..2

Matthew Lombardi skated coast-to-coast, then dished a pass to Kristian Huselius who lifted a backhander over Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo for the win tonight in Vancouver.
The Calgary Flames started the game at a slow pace, and fell behind 2-0 by the end of the first period after goals by Sami Salo and Tyler Pyatt. But they came out gunning in the second period and were lead by Captain Jarome Iginla who slipped the puck under Luongo for the Flames first goal just before crashing through the net with Mattias Ohlund.
Iginla’s goal was the spark for Calgary’s game and they took it to the Canucks after that. Rhett Warrener scored the equalizer for the Flames 5:29 into the 3rd Period after taking a pass from Alex Tanguay and putting it into the Vancouver net.
This was a fairly typical match between Northwest Division rivals. There were lots of hits, and plenty of scorning chances from both sides. There were a few posts hit and a few heads hit!
With the win, Calgary improves to .500 for the first time this season. The Flames have now won 4 games in a row and appear to be shaking the dust off after their summer. They ended Anaheim’s record-setting unbeaten streak, and defeated a high-flying Dallas Stars team.
Calgary’s next game is on November 14 vs. St Louis Blues.
