Andrew Ference Signs 3-year Extension

The Calgary Flames signed defenseman Andrew Ference to a three-year contract extension Friday.

Ference had career highs in assists (27), points (31) and games (82) last season and added four assists in seven postseason games. The Edmonton native has 19 goals, 68 assists and 301 penalty minutes in 333 career games.

The Flames acquired the 5-foot-10, 189-pound defenseman from the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2003 in exchange for a third-round pick in 2004.
