Third Period
What Can I say? The Flames did nothing in this period. And with that, their season is over… seven games into the playoffs.
I’m pretty disappointed, but it was a good season and I have no regrets. Bryzgalov played a stellar game and he was the main difference tonight. Calgary couldn’t muster any offense. How you gonna win games without scoring goals?
I do have a new least favourite player now. His name is Teemu Selanne.
Second Period
The Ducks have taken a 2-0 lead at the end of the 2nd period. Teemu Selanne scored five minutes into the period and Ruslan Salei added the second Anaheim goal with less than 1 minute left in the period. Calgary was on its heels at this point and were waiting for the intermission. Chris Kunitz nearly made it 3-0 on a breakaway with less than 10 seconds left but Miikka Kiprusoff stopped him.
The Calgary Flames need a serious talk from Darryl Sutter in the break to get things going. They also need the crowd to make some noise for the next 20 minutes. If they don’t it will be the last 20 minutes of Calgary’s 2005-2006 season.
I officially call on Jarome Iginla to come out and put some pressure on Anaheim! Let’s see what you got, Iggy!!!!
First Period
It’s a bit of a stressful situation here. It’s still 0-0 and both teams are playing well. Anaheim is playing like they wan to make it 4 upsets in the Western Conference, while Calgary is playing hard, but they just don’t seem to be getting the nice offensive opportunities they need.
I’m a die-hard flames fan to the death, but I’m a bit worried. Somebody needs to step it up here. And how about some powerplay shots guys!!!
Give us something to cheer about!!!
