Ritchie Regehr's 3rd Shot
Welcome to the NHL Ritchie Regehr!!!

For a while there, it looked like his first NHL goal would also be the game winning goal. The Saddledome announcer made a huge deal of it, and the fans lit up ‘The Dome’.

But the video review showed that Steven Reinprecht tipped Regehr‘s slapshot over Minnesota goaltender Dwayne Roloson. In any case Ritchie Regehr‘s 3rd shot in the NHL was an assist for the Flames 3rd goal of the game, and that was all it took to defeat the Minnesota Wild tonight.

The Flames came out flat footed in the 1st Period, narrowly escaping the first 20 minutes without being scored on. They played as sloppy as they did in their recent loss to Nashville, but Darryl Sutter must have had some words for the team in between periods. The Flames gave up a goal just 1:20 into the 2nd period, and another one later in the frame, but were peppy enough to score twice themselves to tie the game at 2-2 at the end of 40 minutes.

The 3rd period was all Calgary, except for a few nail biting moments when they seemed to be on the brink of losing it. With the win, Calgary moves into a tie with Edmonton for the top spot in the Northwest Division.
