Flames Tie Record With Win Over Detroit

Calgary now has 8 wins in a row for the first time in 12 years. Only 2 other Calgary Flames teams have won 8 in a row (1989-1990 and 1992-1993). The all time franchise record of 10 games in a row was when the Flames were based in Atlanta. Calgary is now looking towards their next game vs. Chicago Blackhawks on Friday to extend their win streak.

After tonight’s NHL action, Calgary is tied with Vancouver for the best record in the Northwest Division with 26 points. The Flames are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and are playing like they will need to in the playoffs this year.

Darren McCarty was tonight’s recipient of the Golden Hardhat for his typical hard working play.
