The NHL regular season begins Tomorrow
It’s been a long time coming, and I’m happy to see it back. All of us Canadians are. And if you’re not, you’re just lame… or you’re not a real Canadian.
The Flames will start the regular season on the road in Minnesota. Flames to watch this year are Jarome Iginla (of course), Tony Amonte, Darren McCarty, Miikka Kiprusoff, Chuck Kobasew, and rookie defenceman Dion Phaneuf. I’m calling it right now: He’s the rookie of the year. You just watch this young guy play. You’ll see.
Other games of Note tomorrow are: Pittsburg Penguins (with Lemieux and Crosby) vs. New Jersey Devils and Montreal vs. Boston, which will mark their 670th regular season meeting. That’s a lot of hockey history!!!
After watching the Flames-Canucks game last Friday, I’m very excited to see how the new rules and officiating are going to speed up the game. It should make for an interesting season, and lots of success for our Canadian Teams.
